Garrett's Surgery

Garrett is recovering well from his surgery, still in a bit of pain but a real trooper. His wounds were more than I expected but he was very brave through all of it. They took a graft from the roof of his mouth and attached it to his lower gum in front of his bottom front teeth. They also but the stringy frenulum that was causing the problem there in the front. He has a cast over the graft that looks like bubble gum! He has dietary restrictions for 6-8 weeks til the new graft becomes permanently part of his lower gum but he is hoping to be released to eat popcorn before the circus. Ill put a picture of his cast up as soon as he can open his mouth. His daddy was wonderful and took the day off to go with us. I couldn't have made it with out him. I wasn't sure he could go after being in Austin a week but he got the day off. We got to divide and conquer. One to drive and one to monitor Garrett who wasn't feeling so well on the way home. So that is all behind us and Easter vacation starts next week!!!!! Yeah!!! On to sunny Maryland.

Buffalo Trip Cancelled

Well, we got to Buffalo and picked up Larry from the airport, (complete with name sign the boys made), and then we had to cancel our trip to the Falls because of the weather. We went to IHOP for breakfast because the kids had never been there before. ( I know crazy but true). Hunter had the WHO cakes in honor of the Horton Hears A Who movie coming out soon. By the time we ate, the ground was getting covered with snow so we cancelled our plans and headed home. We did get to shop and swim Thursday. The pictures below are of the boys and their purchases in the mall. Summer declined a picture in her new jeans. The birds below were on the ground when we got up this morning, trapped in the snow and ice we think. Red winged blackbirds, cowbirds and juncos were all over, this picture doesn't show half of them. They cleared out the feeders very quickly. Garrett has surgery for his gums on Monday. Ill post about it after we get back. have a great weekend.

What a Wild Week or Two

Summer's play was wonderful. The kids did a fantastic job and it was amazing. We do have a video I made but I am no videographer! We had company all weekend. The kids loved having Ronnie Shoop up and Summer was thrilled to have them come to the play. We took Larry to Buffalo Monday morning so he could fly out to TX. He says he is having fun and went to a place called The Moonshine Grill last night for supper. www.moonshinegrill.com I guess their banquet was in the courtyard. He really liked it. We are going up to get him in Buffalo tomorrow and then staying overnight to visit Niagara Falls. We are going early and hitting the mall since it has both a Delia's for Summer and Pottery Barn for me. The Barnes and Noble isn't open yet! There is a Williams and Sonoma and a Melting Pot to make up for the Barnes and Noble. The boys want to hit KAYBEE's and Dicks Sporting Goods. Our ice storm is over. The trees are covered and quite a few branches fell. But we maintained power except for a few flickerings. We are staying close to home since everything is encased in ice. We will make up for it tomorrow. Well, hopefully, Ill get the camera thing going this weekend and post pictures of us at a snowy Niagara Falls when we get back.
